We are delighted to announce that Shine Wood Engineering has received the Excellent Safety Performance Award for the 2023–2024 outage season at CLP’s Black Point Power Station. This award not only reflects our unwavering commitment to safety but also acknowledges the collective efforts of our entire team—fitters, riggers, welders, electricians, site supervisors, engineers, and safety supervisors—who worked tirelessly on the front lines to ensure safety excellence. On 25 May 2024, all our Engineers-in-Charge (EIC) participated in a team-building workshop facilitated by MindPower Development Academy. The workshop aimed to strengthen the competence of the middle management of the company. It has achieved several key objectives:

1. Enhancing Personal Accountability and Communication

Participants engaged in self-reflection exercises to deepen their understanding of personal strengths, weaknesses, and communication styles. The focus was on fostering effective communication within the team to take on accountability for the work result.

2. Cultivating a Self-Actualizing Team

Participants were encouraged to view situations from different angles, including those of clients and the company. This approach fostered empathy and a holistic understanding of team dynamics.

3. Alignment with Organizational Goals

Collaboratively, participants agreed upon guiding principles for setting objectives and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). These principles ensured alignment with organizational goals.

The workshop provided practical tools for collaboration, accountability, and strategic alignment, emphasizing the following core values (3Cs) of Shine Wood Engineering.

•  Commitment: Striving for excellence through continuous improvement.

•  Customer Focus: Placing the needs and satisfaction of clients at the forefront.

•  Collaboration: Working together as a team to achieve common goals.

The workshop was completed with high recognition from the team.

It was our honor to receive the Best Contractor Safety and Quality Performance Award at the 2024 GE Vernova Supplier EHS Summit, held in Shanghai, China, on 14 May 2024. The summit acknowledged excellence in safety, quality, on-time delivery, competitiveness, and overall partnership among all suppliers for GE Vernova. The award recognized Shine Wood’s commitment to upholding the highest standards of safety and quality for our customers, including GE Vernova.

The Supplier EHS Summit also provides an opportunity to share best practices, exchange insights, and strengthen partnerships from an EHS standpoint. At the summit, our Executive Director, Mr. Jimmy Cheung, presented Shine Wood’s implementation of improvement initiatives for the company’s site safety and productivity. These initiatives well received appreciation.

Our management team visited the CLP Power Academy centre to explore various training opportunities available for our team. We are committed to developing young people by providing them a pathway for uplifting their knowledge and skillsets in the power industry. We believe that investing in our engineers’ growth is essential for the success of the company.

Six of our young engineers are currently enrolled in the Professional Diploma in Power Engineering program, jointly organized by the CLP Power Academy and the Vocational Training Council (VTC). Recognized by the Electrical and Mechanical Services Department (EMSD) of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, this 2-year part-time program aims to provide our engineers with specific vocational and professional education and training in Power Systems and Power Plant Engineering, with in-depth understanding of power systems and practical skills to tackle engineering projects.


We are honored to assist Siemens in the major overhaul of the D1 turbine unit at CLP Black Point Power Station. This maintenance aims to enhance the turbine unit’s efficiency and reliability, ensuring a continuous and stable power supply. Our professional team closely collaborates with Siemens to perform inspections, replace components, and further optimize the equipment, ensuring that the unit operates at its best. This effort has contributed to improved power plant efficiency, reduced energy consumption, and minimized environmental impact. We are committed to providing reliable energy solutions for our customers and ensuring the project’s successful execution.


Shine Wood Engineering Company Limited is honored to undertake the scaffolding works and the installation services for various mechanical components of the Shek Kwu Chau incinerator. We adhere to high standards and quality, dispatch a professional team for construction, use quality materials, and ensure that the metal scaffolds are safe and reliable. At the same time, we carefully select suitable steam pressure valves for our customers. Our professional team installs and adjust the valves to ensure safe operation. We are committed to providing quality engineering works and making a positive contribution to environmental protection.

Provision of Labour & Tools for Insulation & Cladding Installation Work at BPPS D2  CCGT Unit.


We are honored to assist Hong Kong and China Gas (Towngas) in their annual plant overhaul at the Tai Po Plant. Our professional team is responsible for furnace inspection and cleaning, ensuring the smooth operation and safety of the plant. Additionally, we refurbish the tube-type reactors to enhance efficiency and extend equipment lifespan. The purpose of this major overhaul is to ensure a stable gas supply, providing reliable gas services to the community in Hong Kong. We are committed to executing high-quality work, ensuring project success, and meeting customer expectations.
